About Us
The “All India Drugs Control Officers' Confederation” was formed on 28th December 1995 at Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, with a view to provide a common platform for the drugs control officers at the national-level. The Confederation is registered  as the Society under the Registration of Society Act, 1860, as the Trust under Bombay Public Trust Act, 1850, as Charitable Trust under Income Tax Act. The Confederation is also affiliated to the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association. In a short span of five years, the confederation has become a strong and vibrant organization representing the drugs control officers from all parts of country. The strength of the confederation lies in its reliance on collective wisdom’, participation of all as an integral part of the strategy and commitment to the philosophy “future belongs to those who reach out for it.”

    To interact and cooperate with the state,central government, union territories and non-government voluntary organizations with a view to improve quality of healthcare facilities available to the public.

    To undertake study of drug legislation in India and the organizational structures of the regulatory agencies and to suggest measures for ensuring availability of standard safe and efficacious medicines to the public.

    To inculcate sense of dedication amongst members,assist them to improve their professional excellence, to improve their effectiveness enabling them to serve and safeguard the interest of the consumer.

    To publish a newsletter to disseminate legal and technical information to the regulatory officers, persons in the pharmacy profession and general public.

    To arrange workshops and seminars to enable members to upgrade their knowledge and to increase consumer awareness.

    To promote and advance, in the interest of public, in the art of science and pharmaceutical technology and highest standard for the product of pharmaceutical industry with the emphasized technology of drugs and pharmaceuticals.

    To offer better services to the public.


    Priorities


    To achieve professional excellence through better coordination amongst drugs control officers.

    To unite and organize the drugs control officers in the state, central government and union territories and their associations with an object of coordinating their activities;

    To safeguard and promote interest of the drugs control officers all over India.

    To achieve uniform status, uniform organizational structure, and uniform pay scales.

    To have an independent and separate drugs control organization headed by a technically qualified person (as per rules 49 A and 50 A of drugs and cosmetics rules. 1945)
